Ambassador Day

At the beginning of March we brought together the 2023 Ambassador cohort for our first Ambassador Day of the year.

The theme of the day was trailblazing and we were delighted to be joined by 3 trailblazing guest speakers: Becky Allen, President of EMI Records, Kathryn Enticott, Director of Enticott Music Management & saxophonist, broadcaster and presenter Jess Gillam.

Across the day, we discussed 4 key themes: what does trailblazing mean to you, what meaningful communication looks like, the intrinsic link between the roles of performer, musician & educator & what other skills, asides from musical skills are needed to help grow your career.

A huge thank you to all the guest speakers for a truly uplifting & inspirational afternoon, to our host, Lucy Drever, to all the Ambassadors for coming to London from all across the UK (and further afield!), Jonny Bohane, IT extraordinaire and our hosts Latymer Upper School who gifted us their recital hall, and to the funders who support this programme.

An incredible day was had as we worked closely with the dedicated music instructors at High Life Highland. These teachers are so committed to their students and to ensuring access to as many opportunities as possible. They have one of the largest geographical areas to cover of any music service in the UK, but they don’t let that stop them! A very special team.

Thank you to everyone at High Life Highland, especially Music Service Manager Norman Bolton & to all at Creative Scotland for funding the Residency Sessions.
