FIDDLY FOURTH FINGERS FOR SCHOOL AGE UPPER STRINGS PLAYERS

Tuesday 16 April 7.30-8.30pm UK Time

Join violinist Alex Laing as he helps you develop a more reliable fourth finger which will enable you to tackle trickier or faster music with confidence.

This Session is recommended for young people who are working at Intermediate level and above.

Join The Ayoub Sisters, Laura and Sarah as we explore the journey to finding your own musical voice.

In this Session, we will look at designing your own projects including working with fellow musicians, promoters, managers and record labels. We’ll explore the use of loop pedals, improvisation, arranging and how they unite different musical genres and cultures together through their unique compositional style.

Bring your instruments and join us for an open jazz session with pianist Richard Michael. With his philosophy of' ‘Mistakes are Cool,’ we invite you to join Richard and to explore the musical freedom that jazz and improvisation offers. This will be a safe place to play along and expand or explore new skills.

TOP TIPS FOR DEVELOPING SCALES AND ARPEGGIOS: INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED VIOLIN PLAYERS

In this session, violinist and renowned teacher, Amy Beth Horman, will be sharing her all-time best tips and tricks for gaining fluency over major and minor scales and arpeggios. We are going to learn how to build them, practice them, and then light them up for repertoire use!

In addition to traditional scales, we will also switch it up and have some fun outside the box with a few pentatonic scales to open our ears and spark creativity for improvisation. Scales are a story waiting to be told. What's in your scale story?

This Session is suitable for intermediate and advanced violinists who are working on 3 octave scales and arpeggios.
