Yoonseo Oh Violin

Born in 1998, Yoonseo Oh is a South Korean violinist based in London. A scholarship student to both the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (Undergraduate, Bachelor of Music) and the Royal Academy of Music (Postgraduate, Master of Arts), Yoonseo has studied with eminent violin teachers such as Philippe Honoré and Maya Iwabuchi (Concertmaster of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra). In addition to her degrees, Yoonseo graduated the RCS with a music education endorsement and later became a Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music (LRAM).

At the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Yoonseo was a finalist in the concerto competition and was awarded a ‘High Commendation’ from the Louis Carus Duo Ensemble Prize. She has participated in coveted masterclasses from eminent violinists such as Simon James, Tobias Ringborg and Nicola Benedetti.

Yoonseo has worked alongside distinguished artists and ensembles including Nicola Benedetti, Thomas Søndergård, Ludovic Morlot, Alice Farham, John Wilson, Semyon Bychkov, Brodsky Quartet, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Scottish Ensemble, in addition to co-leading the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland. She has performed for high-profile events such as at Buckingham palace, for His Royal Highness Prince of Wales – now King of England.

With a passion for education, Yoonseo enjoys working as an instrumental ambassador for the Benedetti Foundation in addition to teaching privately.
