STRING TEACHERS’ PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WEEKEND
FREEDOM WITHIN STRUCTURE
SOUTHBANK CENTRE, LONDON
12th - 13 July 2025
Whether you teach whole class, small groups, individuals, work for a charity, a music service or local authority, a junior conservatoire or teach privately, this weekend will ultimately aim to build a new sense of community where teachers from all backgrounds come together to inspire and motivate, to engage and share and to learn and develop with the best educators and teachers around. This weekend aspires to leave you with new-found excitement and enthusiasm about teaching your instrument, and a chance to forge new relationships with those in similar positions.
This years String Teacher Professional Development weekend will revolve around the theme of Freedom within Structure.
As teachers and performers, much of our work revolves around the pursuit of freedom—freedom of the body, freedom in music, freedom of the mind, and the freedom we seek within the complex individuals we teach. To be free is not to be confined by the limitations of our minds or bodies, but to act and think with intention and authenticity. True freedom is not chaotic; it demands thoughtfulness and structure to be fully understood and appreciated. In our upcoming teacher sessions, we’ll delve into these many dimensions of mental and physical freedom, guided by an exceptional line up of world-renowned experts in the field.
*Specific Session topics will be revealed nearer the time.
You can register to attend on either one day only, or join us for the whole weekend.
These interactive discussion sessions will be facilitated by The Benedetti Foundation tutors and exciting guests. After feedback from previous sessions, we are giving teachers more time for observation of rehearsals and the opportunity to soak up the magical Benedetti Sessions atmosphere.
