Rosy Shoushanian Violin

Rosy Shoushanian is a Syrian-Armenian violinist, vibrant performer, inspiring teacher, and an inquisitive learner who pulls influence from around the world while living in Aleppo-Syria.

She defies daily horrors of ten years of war and a devastating earthquake through performing and teaching music.She created the first summer violin camp in Aleppo “Dream Big”; where children who have been living their entire lives in war, have found peace and hope by playing music together while learning in a fun, caring, and supportive environment.

Rosy studied Pharmacy in University of Aleppo, but her first love is performing, both on violin and dancing.

She started learning the violin since 2005 in Aleppo, learning from Valerie Timoshenko and Missak Manougian. She is grateful for studying the violin with Dr. Kirsten Yon, since 2021.

She played in masterclasses for Rachel Barton Pine, Nancy Zhou and Eunice Kim in SSAG online festival. She took masterclasses in playing chamber music from Maestro Missak Baghboudarian, and violin duets from Armen Jenterejian.

She performed in Yerevan-Armenia and took masterclasses from Bagrat Vardanyan.She was certified from Yerevan for studying the life and compositions of Alexander Spendiaryan.

Since 2014, she frequently performs with Aleppo’s various orchestras and bands; playing classical music, Arabic-Armenian folk music.

She discovered her passion for teaching in 2014. Throughout the years she touched the hearts of over 200 local violin students. In 2023 she became an Instrumental Ambassador of Benedetti Foundation.

Besides music, she enjoys stone carving, sculpting, dancing, and spending time with her nephews.
