Niamh Ní Lochlainn Violin

Niamh is a Lead Ambassador on the Creative Learning strand within the Benedetti Foundation. A violinist from Dublin who has recently completed her MMus in violin performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, her career so far has encompassed an eclectic range of performance and teaching roles in Ireland and the UK. Her extensive experience as a violin teacher has seen her working in schools, community settings, and in a private capacity with students ranging in age from 4 to 83 years old. She believes passionately in the provision of high-quality music education to all, and her work in the Foundation has been a huge source of inspiration in that regard. Niamh’s freelance performing career has been as wide-ranging as her teaching; as an orchestral player she has performed with numerous ensembles, most recently with SinfoNua, a young professionals’ orchestra based at the National Concert Hall in Dublin with whom she performed Fidelio alongside Lyric Opera. Outside the classical realm, Niamh has regularly performed and recorded with bands and artists in the Irish pop and rock scene, playing with emerging band The Scratch and recording their live album released in 2021, as well as filming a music video with established post-rock band Overhead, The Albatross.

She enjoys every moment of her work as an Ambassador with the Benedetti Foundation, and is particularly enthusiastic about learning and collaborating with her fellow musicians from diverse artistic backgrounds.
