Molly Gribbon Flute

Molly Gribbon is a 20-year-old flautist from North Ayrshire, Scotland. An alumnus of the Music School of Douglas Academy, she is currently studying flute with Ruth Morley and piccolo with Janet Richardson on the BMus course at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She is a bursary recipient of the Scottish International Flute Summer School, where she studies with Ian Clarke, Wissam Boustany, André Cebrián and this year, Michael Cox. She has performed in all of Glasgow’s main venues including the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and City Halls, and has been a member of ensembles such as the NYOS Symphony Orchestra. She was awarded an Instrumental Ambassador role at the Benedetti Foundation in 2022. Also in 2022, she began working at the RCS Junior Conservatoire Primary Instrumental Programme as a Programme Assistant and cover Classroom Assistant. Molly achieved her ARSM Diploma in Flute Performance with Distinction in 2021. She recently performed in the “Intersections” project with the RCS Composition Department and PHD researchers at the University of St Andrews, premiering new works in the Laidlaw Music Centre. This sparked an interest in new music, and she looks forward to further collaborations with the department throughout her degree. She hopes to see classical music performance and concerts become more accessible in coming years, and is honoured to be playing a part in the Benedetti Foundations’ ground-breaking work in tackling the obstacles that still exist in the artform today, and creating an environment where everyone is provided the opportunity to thrive.
