Michaias then spent his sixth form years at Chetham’s School of Music before commencing his undergraduate and postgraduate studies in bass trombone performance at the Royal Academy of Music (RAM).

He received generous support from the Royal Academy of Music, St Marylebone Educational Foundation, Countess of Munster Trust (Derek Butler Award), and the Craxton Memorial Trust towards his RAM studies and has very much enjoyed learning about composition, arranging, doubling on other brass instruments, creativity, educational outreach and different styles of music during this time. Michaias looks forward to honing all these skills and making them an integral part of his musical career.
