Mari-Carmen Morris Violin/Viola

Mari-Carmen is a violinist and violist who is currently studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. As someone with Spanish and English heritage, she has benefitted from a wide range of experiences that have positively shaped her musical development. She began formal music lessons aged 8, when she joined the Jaén Junior Conservatoire. However, her affinity for music had begun long before, thanks to her family’s willingness to celebrate and share music. While Mari-Carmen was in Spain, she enjoyed being a member of the Granada and Córdoba youth orchestras, and later the Barenboim-Said academy in Seville. She was then admitted as a specialist musician to the Wells Cathedral School, where she was able to meet and learn from many like-minded talented musicians. Nowadays, Mari-Carmenen joys sharing music with those around her, whether it be through performance or education. She is a firm believer that music is meant for all, and finds much reward putting this principle into practice through her work in the Benedetti Foundation
