INTRODUCTORY AND BEGINNER STRING PLAYERS

ABERDEEN BENEDETTI SESSIONS: REGISTRATION CLOSED

Introductory Strings (open strings to Pre-Grade 1, age 6-11): Saturday 16 March OR Sunday 17 March c.9.30am-5pm

Beginner Strings (approx. Grade 1-3, age 7-13): Saturday 16 AND Sunday 17 March c.9.30-5pm

Join Nicola Benedetti and our incredible team of tutors to prepare, rehearse and perform together.

During these sessions, we will be approaching music in a way that inspires fun and enjoyment and a great sense of togetherness.

The Introductory Orchestra is for those who have just begun playing (we recommend you have had at least a term's worth of lessons), up to around Grade 1 level and will join us on Saturday or Sunday only. We will work on one piece of music which you will receive in advance, along with tutorial videos from our Tutors to help you prepare.

The Beginner Orchestra is for string players who are working between Grade 1-3 standard and will join us on Saturday AND Sunday. You will work on two pieces of music for your orchestra, plus one piece which is for mass orchestra. For this, you will join the Intermediate and Advanced players to rehearse. You will receive the parts and tutorial videos from our Tutors to help you prepare.

Everyone will also be asked to complete a creative activity in advance to encourage you to immerse yourselves in the story of the music during the preparation period.

On the sessions, both orchestras will explore expression, rhythm, storytelling, sound production, freedom in playing, the context of the music and improvisation, as well as delving into specific technical challenges.

The Sessions end with a short performance to which family will be able to attend (limited seating).

On sign up, please add the link to a short video of your playing. This is not for assessment or audition, but helps us to support your young musicians during the weekend. This can be emailed to us after you have completed the registration form and you will be given the deadline to submit this.

Participation Fee (Total):
