INTRODUCTORY STRING PLAYERS
Introductory Orchestra
Sunday 7 June 2026
The Introductory Orchestra is for young people, aged 6-11, who have just begun playing their instruments, up to around Grade 1 level. Young people must have turned 6 by 6 June 2026.
The Introductory Orchestra will take place on Sunday 7 June.
Watch this short video from Tutor, Stewart Wilson, to find out more about what we do in the Introductory Orchestra, and whether this is the right group for you!
During the Aberdeen Sessions, the Introductory Orchestra will work on one piece of music, The Hidden Cave by Joëlle Broad.
A creative task is also shared in advance to encourage participants to immerse themselves in the story of the music during the preparation period. We then ask participants to bring this with them on the day.
The day will end with a short sharing session to which families are invited to join (limited capacity).
