Join Nicola Benedetti and our incredible team of tutors to prepare, rehearse and perform together.

During these sessions, we will be approaching music in a way that inspires fun and enjoyment and a great sense of togetherness.

The Beginner Orchestra is for string players who are working at around Grade 1-3 standard and will join us on Saturday and Sunday. You will work on two pieces of music across the weekend which you will receive along with tutorial videos from our Tutors to help you prepare.

The Introductory Orchestra is for those who have just begun playing (we recommend you have had at least half a term's worth of lessons), up to around Grade 1 level and will join us on Sunday only. We will work on one piece of music which you will receive in advance, along with tutorial videos from our Tutors to help you prepare.

Everyone will also receive a creative activity in advance to encourage you to immerse yourselves in the story of the music during the preparation period.

On the sessions, both orchestras will explore expression, rhythm, storytelling, sound production, freedom in playing, the context of the music and improvisation, as well as delving into specific technical challenges.

The Sessions end with a short performance. Subject to capacity, we hope families will be able to join us for the sharing session on Sunday.

On sign up, please add the link to a short video of your playing. This can be sent after you have completed the registration form but should be received by 15 November.

Participation Fee (Total): Beginners £15, Introductory £10

Full bursary support is available - please select the box on the registration form.

Registration will close when all spaces are filled.

Please Note: Participants in the sessions are expected to have prepared their parts before the day. This will allow us to better focus our time together on larger objectives like storytelling, sound production, freedom in playing.

We will take your young pupils on a musical adventure composing and performing their own song, playing body percussion, listening to live music and having so much fun along the way.

This inspiring and engaging schools' workshop will introduce your pupils to the fundamentals of making music covering the basics of pulse, rhythm, pitch and harmony.

This workshop is FREE to schools.

There will be a morning and an afternoon session (approximate times 10.30-11.30am and 1.30-2.30pm).

Please indicate on the registration form which session your school would prefer to attend and the approximate number of pupils you would like to bring.

Professional Development Weekend

Advanced Vibrato (Higher Positions & Double Stops) for Upper Strings

Monday 5 and 12 October

7-8pm BST

A two-part series focusing on developing vibrato for advanced violinists & violists. A follow on to the July vibrato session, but equally as accessible to new participants, these sessions will allow you to extend your vibrato skills in the higher positions and with double stops and to explore the different colours and textures which can be achieved for different characters. This is recommended for advanced players

Whether you teach whole class, small groups, individuals, work for a charity, a music service or local authority, a junior conservatoire or teach privately, this weekend will ultimately aim to build a new sense of community where teachers from all backgrounds come together to inspire and motivate, to engage and share and to learn and develop with the best educators and teachers around. This weekend aspires to leave you with new found excitement and enthusiasm about teaching your instrument, and a chance to forge new relationships with those in similar positions.

Workshops at the Glasgow Sessions will include:
