Emily Guy   Operations and Administration Manager

Emily joined the Benedetti Foundation in January 2024 as Operations & Administration Manager, working closely with the Foundation Director to ensure everything is in place behind the scenes for all of our work to run smoothly, safely and enjoyably.

Emily’s enthusiasm for the Foundation’s work was sparked in 2019 when she joined the Foundation in its first few months of existence- on an Administrative Assistant placement- and helped run the very first sessions in Glasgow and London; she then regularly worked on the Pastoral Team at Benedetti Session weekends across the country.

Before joining the team Emily worked in operations management for Theatr Clwyd Music Trust in North Wales. Previously she has enjoyed working with other music education organisations such as Junior Conservatoire of Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and the National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain. Emily has also worked in public relations with the Benedetti Foundation’s publicist, Rebecca, where Emily looked after publicity for Academy of St Martin in the Fields, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, The Sixteen and Cadogan Hall.

Emily studied Harp at Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, followed by a Masters in Arts Management, which was generously supported by an HRH Prince of Wales Scholarship. Whilst at university she enjoyed being orchestral manager for a student pop/hybrid-orchestra, toured Wales with an outreach orchestra performing for thousands of children, and got stuck into work placements with BBC Young Musician of the Year, BBC Cardiff Singer of the World, and RWCMD’s Development department. In 2019 she was awarded the Gemma Sharp Memorial Prize for contributions to the College.

Outside of music, Emily is a coxswain at a local rowing club in Chester and loves to go salsa dancing.
