Chrissie Johnson Violin

Chrissie is a Scottish musician, currently based in Glasgow. Passionate about accessibility in music education, she enjoys working in a variety of music education organisations including Sistema Scotland and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s Primary Instrumental Programme. She has a particular interest in music making with early years and an experienced background working with young people with complex and additional support needs.

Originally trained as a violinist, Chrissie graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama having studied for a master’s degree in performance with a scholarship under the guidance of Lucy Gould and Cerys Jones. Having also previously studied music at the University of Edinburgh, she graduated with the ‘Eileen Cameron Music Prize’ for her musical contributions to the community. Chrissie has been an Ambassador for the Benedetti Foundation since 2021 and particularly enjoys working with introductory and beginner orchestras at live sessions. In her free time, you can find her watching true crime documentaries or expanding her repertoire of vegan home cooking!
